Hi! I’m Meredith Gomez, owner of Helen Joy Home, and accidental licensed general contractor and designer.
I bought my first home at 21, convinced it was the one I’d live in forever. What started as knocking down a single wall quickly turned into a much more purposeful remodel. Then one renovation turned into another, and before I knew it, Helen Joy Home was born.
What began as a passion for fixing up outdated houses became a full-service design and renovation firm and a career I genuinely love.
As someone who cares just as much about what’s behind the walls as what’s on them - the placement of a light switch, the swing of a door, the way a space flows - I think about homes a little differently than most. And I love sharing that perspective.

These days, I’m in a different season.
I’m not taking on client projects but I’m still deep in the work - renovating our own properties, sourcing materials, testing products, and staying connected to the craft I’ve spent years building. What’s changed is the outlet (and the addition of two beautiful boys).
This space is where I share everything I’m using and loving: the products that are actually worth it, the design decisions that hold up over time and the ideas that make a home feel intentional from the inside out.
The Helen Joy Home Name
Helen Joy Home is named after the founder, Meredith’s, two grandmothers - Helen and Joy. Different in style and personality, but shared the same deep love they poured into their families and the unwavering support they gave her through her life.
